On the New York Times homepage at the time of writing, a breaking news banner says “A.P. and Television Networks Project Obama as Winner in South Carolina.” The timestamp reads 7:01 p.m. ET. Lower on the page, it shows the standings:
Obama: 0%. Clinton: 0%. John Edwards…0%. With 0% reporting. The timestamp reads 7:02 p.m. ET. Magical.
CNN’s “Political Ticker” links does report that Obama won support in exit polls amongst late deciders. CNN is one of the T.V. networks projecting Obama’s win.
I would stay and rant about how farcical this is, but I’m gonna go out and enjoy my Saturday night…On second thought, thank you AP and television networks!
