North by Northwestern is an award-winning newsmagazine covering and commenting on news and culture at Northwestern University. We update daily online and print a full-color glossy magazine three times each year. We tell unique stories in entertaining ways, whether they’re through printed graphics, multimedia, blog posts or feature-length stories.
North by Northwestern NFP is an Illinois 501(c)(3) not-for-profit company. All donations are tax-deductible. Our publication is completely independent from Northwestern University. We don’t receive any funding or support from the university or from Associated Student Government, so they can’t tell us what to say. But independence also means we’re pretty strapped for cash. We rely on advertisements and outside fundraising to host our website, buy equipment like cameras and print thousands of magazines each quarter.
