    A&O’s first choice, CollegeSadness Live, was set to speak on alcoholism, poverty
    CollegeHumor Live will be coming to Cahn Auditorium on Thursday, Mar. 3 as A&O’s second winter speaker. The humor website’s stars include Amir Blumenfeld, Jeff Rubin, Streeter Seidell, Dan Gurewitch and Anthony Jeselnikm. Right. Tickets are $10 and go on sale Monday, Feb. 28 at 10:30 a.m. through the Norris Box Office online. We’ve got the rest right here.

    Under new plan, student group funding will be based on breakdancing skillz
    In addition to confirming a new financial vice president, ASG announced changes to the funding process for the Student Groups Committee Wednesday. B-status groups must now apply for funding on a quarterly basis rather than a yearly one. Our twisted sisters at The Daily Northwestern have the full story.

    After bringing in Wolverine as an associate professor, NU also ranks fifth in mutant power
    The Environmental Protection Agency ranked Northwestern University fifth in its most recent list of green power purchasers. The list is a part of the Green Power Partnership, a voluntary program that encourages organizations to help offset the impact of electricity usage. We have the whole thing here.

    Scientists move on to cure for procrastination, as soon as they catch up on 30 Rock
    A group of researchers from NU and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology was able to isolate a gene responsible for regulating sleeping patterns after experimenting on a sample of fruit flies.     Archives employees on the digitization: “The short shorts. Oh lord, the short shorts.”
    The Northwestern University Archives digitized a collection of 14 NU basketball game films from the late 1950s. The vintage films feature players like Wilt Chamberlain, Johnny Green and former Wildcats star Joe Ruklick. Northwestern News has the whole story here.
