Shao begins by dissolving ASG Senate, calling in Order 66
Victor Shao and Brad Stewart defeated Kameron Dodge and Steven Monacelli in Friday’s ASG runoff election. Shao, who won 42 percent of the vote in the initial election Wednesday, will serve until spring 2013. We’ve got full coverage right here.
Not to be outdone, ETHS will be sure to keep NU students out of this year’s prom
Northwestern is promising a stricter attendance policy at this year’s Dillo Day, according to Burgie Howard. WildCARD enforcement will be tighter, though students will still be allowed to bring guests. Head on over to our co-headliners at The Daily Northwestern for more.
Greatness simply must be recognized
Medill professor John Sullivan, along with four other reporters, won the Pultizer Prize for a Philadelphia Inquirer investigation into violence in Philadelphia public schools. Meanwhile, former Daily editor-in-chief (and occasional Week in Review peruser) Brian Rosenthal was nominated for a Mirror Award for his stories on the Medill Innocence Project. Any and all students are eligible for a spot in the Cubs’ bullpen this season
Four Northwestern students competed for the honor of throwing out the first pitch at NU Day at Wrigley. The contestants had to answer trivia questions about NU, the Cubs and Wrigley Field. The winner will undoubtedly throw a strike when the Cubs take on the Phillies on May 17. The Daily has more right here.
Nally will work with various a cappella groups until he “gets a feel for it”
The Bienen School of Music has hired Dr. Donald Nally as choral director following the retirement of current director Robert Harris, who held the position for 35 years. Nally has previously served as conductor and chorus master for various professional chorus groups and opera choruses. We’ve got the full story here.
