Joshua Malina visits the (North)West(ern) Wing

So, this might sound like a bit of a Scandal

But Joshua Malina (The West Wing, Scandal) will be speaking at Northwestern this Tuesday, Nov. 1, as Hillel’s annual celebrity speaker. The presentation will take place at 7 p.m. in Cahn Auditorium. Tickets are free and can be obtained at the Norris Box Office (nbo.northwestern.edu) starting Thursday at 10 a.m.

Malina’s appearance comes a week before the Presidential election, so although Aaron Sorkin won’t be writing any remarks, you can expect some commentary surrounding the campaign trail.

Joshua Malina began his acting career in the Broadway Production of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men. A few years later, he would make his on-screen debut as Tom (a 5-line role) for the play’s 1992 film adaptation.

Still, his relationship with Sorkin helped define Malina’s career. On top of appearing in Sorkin’s next film, The American President, Malina had supporting roles on Sorkin TV shows Sports Night and The West Wing.

Nowadays, Malina is more commonly known for his role as David Rosen on Scandal. A series regular, Rosen is an Assistant U.S. Attorney.

A press release from Hillel says the audience will hear about Malina’s perspective and experiences as a Jewish actor in Hollywood.
