Between 4:45 and 5 p.m., the ASG Web site, including the online voting page, went down. The site was back up at 6:30 p.m. according to Election Commissioner Paul David Shrader, a Weinberg senior.
Since voting was thus limited for about two hours, the polls are now closing at 9 p.m. instead of the originally planned 7 p.m. The candidates will be notified by phone a few minutes after 9 p.m., Schrader said. North by Northwestern will post the election’s results as soon as they are announced.
ASG is unaware of the cause of the malfunction, but NUIT’s Firewall team was working on the problem.
