    In case you were busy adding courses to your shopping cart, here’s a recap of some news you may have missed this week.

    Controversial proposal to slash stir fry budget still up in the air
    Northwestern Vice President of Student Affairs William Banis has created a new ASG group that will use student feedback to look at establishing new meal plans. When a similar group was formed years ago, the end result was the creation of block plans. Check out the whole story here.

    Blueprints reportedly include money-filled swimming pool, walls made of gold
    A new site for the new Kellogg School of Management building was formally selected by the university Wednesday. The structure will be built next to the lakefront Allen Center. Head over to our cellmates at The Daily Northwestern for more.

    Music aside, FMO really just loves Wanted and Smokin’ Aces
    Hip-hop artist Common will be speaking at For Members Only’s annual State of the Black Union speech. The two-time Grammy-winner (and former Dillo Day headliner) will speak about empowering urban youth at the event on Nov. 22 in Cahn Auditorium. We’ve got the full story here.

    Only challenge is finding glasses tiny enough to hold microbrews
    Evanston is considering proposals by two residents to open a microbrewery and microdistillery. Ted Perez, president of the Evanston Homebrew Club, hopes to sell handcrafted specialty beer, while Paul Hletko is looking to produce high-end whiskey. The Daily has more right here.

    Program to be based on The Keg’s “buy nine drinks, get one-night stand free” discount
    Downtown Evanston has announced the launch of a gift card that will be honored at many of the downtown area’s 300 retail shops. The gift card, meant to help local businesses during the holiday season, will be available in values ranging from $5 to $500. The card will come with a “passport” that offers discounts at various stores. Evanston Now has the whole story here.
