Despite economy, Bid Night helps keep giant letter market afloat another year
Tuesday night was Bid Night, when Potential New Members became, well, New Members. Sorority girls gathered outside Leverone Hall to welcome their new sisters. Investigations into the number of new friend requests sent out are ongoing, but they may number in the hundreds of thousands. We have a photo slideshow from Bid Night here.
Researchers still working to cure addiction to Robot Unicorn Attack
Jelena Radulovic, a Northwestern professor in the department of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, has discovered drug compounds that can help prevent the development of post-traumatic stress disorder in mice if injected within five hours after initial stress. She says this finding may help those afflicted by PTSD, a mental condition that affects about 8 million Americans. Head over to The Daily for more.
Others to honor Dr. King by sleeping past noon, playing Call of Duty all day
There will be no class on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The university is planning a series of events, including keynote addresses from TV and radio host Tavis Smiley and Interfaith Youth Core founder and executive director Eboo Patel.
