At around 12 p.m. on Wednesday, the online ballot for ASG elections crashed and remained out of service until approximately 1:30 p.m.

Earlier reports claim that the candidate websites, along with NULink, were also down for approximately 30 minutes before being back up.

ASG vice president of technology Michael Jan said he learned of the problem shortly after 12 p.m. and was in contact with NUIT to resolve the issue.

According to election commissioner Elizabeth Broder, the election committee has decided to extend the voting period by one hour to 8 p.m.

“We lost no information, everything is back to normal. It was just unfortunate” said Jan. He attributed the crash to a server overload due to a lack of memory.

The ballot, through which students can vote for ASG president, vice president of student life, and vice president of academics, opened at 12 a.m. and was originally scheduled to close at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
