Beer garden confirmed for Dillo Day
By

A beer garden will be open on the northeast corner of the Dillo Day field from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., Mayfest and Northwestern University officials announced today. The garden will be accessible to students, faculty and staff who are over the legal drinking age.

Beer will cost $5, cash only. Available beers include Coors Light, Miller Light, Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, and Goose Island’s 312. “The wide variety of options should accommodate everyone’s tastes,” Mayfest Co-Chair Chase Jackson said in a statement. “We’re especially excited to be featuring beer from a local Chicago brewery.”

Students, faculty and staff will be able to sign in up to three guests. While students will need their Wildcard and a second form of identification for proof of age, guests will need to present two forms of ID, one of which must include their photo. Patrons will then receive bracelets so they can return to the garden throughout the afternoon.

Patrons will only be allowed to drink alcohol within the garden, and will be capped at a maximum of five beers.
