A student walked through the window of Plaza Cafe at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, breaking the paper-thin glass and shutting down the escalators leading up to the second floor.

According to Carly Breen, a library staff member, the student was a Plaza Cafe regular. “He was just looking down and walked right through it,” Breen said.

The student went to the hospital but according to Breen, seemed more shocked than injured.

Updated at 10:30 p.m.: The student was discharged from the hospital around 4 p.m. and is feeling fine. He received 19 stitches but said he was only “marginally inconvenienced” by the accident.
