Your road trip to San Antonio: Hippie memorials, kooky museums and enemy territory
By

After a month of waiting and praying Tyrell Sutton gets healthy enough to play (he is!), the Northwestern Wildcats are only a few days away from facing the Missouri Tigers in the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. With NU playing for their first bowl win since the Truman administration, hardcore ‘Cats fans should experience Monday’s game live, deep in the heart of Texas. But how to get down to San Antonio? Unless you live in Texas (sorry) or your parents have access to some of that sweet bailout cash to buy plane tickets this late in the game, the best option for the budget-concious ‘Cats fan is the road trip, a college staple. But how can anyone possibly enjoy a long car ride through some of the most desolate stretches of America?

To make your Alamo Bowl experience even better, North by Northwestern has highlighted some of the more interesting sites to see during your drive from Chicago to San Antonio. We’ve also pinpointed some of the important places to go in San Antonio, including hotels, interesting events and the stadium itself — all to make your trek south as memorable as possible.

Check back starting this Saturday, as North by Northwestern will be live from sunny San Antonio with updates.
