This is a statement released by Northwestern University on Tuesday morning in regards to the death of Rebecca Quint.
Dear Members of the Northwestern Community:
I am deeply saddened to report that a Northwestern undergraduate student, Rebecca Quint, was found dead in her room in the Foster-Walker Complex residence hall on the Evanston campus late Monday night, March 1, 2010. The cause of death has not yet been determined and is under investigation by the Evanston Police Department with assistance from University Police. There is no indication of any danger or threat to other members of the Northwestern community.
Rebecca was a sophomore in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences from Concord, MA.
On behalf of the University, I extend our condolences to Rebecca’s family and to her fellow students and friends. The loss of any individual member affects all of us in the Northwestern community.
Staff members from Counseling and Psychological Services, University Residential Life and the University Chaplain’s office will be available at Foster-Walker at 8:30 p.m. tonight. CAPS also may be contacted at 1-2151 or 1-8100 after hours.
