The Daily's classy, professional retraction
By

After they found one of their stories to be plagiarized, The Daily Northwestern today issued a retraction. It was in every way what a retraction should be: honest, thoughtful and fair, and focused on what the paper is doing to fix a problem that every publication is susceptible to. Kudos.

One note though: The paper took the story in question out of their archive, so you won’t be able to judge for yourself.

Nov. 13 update: The Daily’s public editor wrote a column today about the paper’s reaction, generally praising it, though with a few more suggestions.
