R.I.P. my (fluff)Friend
By

Hundo the Fun Dolphin, born in Fall Quarter, died Sunday after his owner, Patrick St. Michel, euthanized him by deleting the (fluff)Friend application.

“I originally created him as an experiment for the blog I run, Netplay,” St. Michel said. “I wanted to talk about how dumb and pointless a virtual pet was. But I liked him more than I thought I would. He taught me that, even though a lot of applications are stupid, having an app on your Facebook doesn’t make you a terrible person. Some are kind of cool, and Hundo taught me tolerance regarding apps.”

Named after a famous Evanston drinking location, Hundo the Fun Dolphin is best remembered for quoting Lil’ Wayne and taking up space on St. Michel’s Facebook page. Hundo, as his friends often referred to him, also ran in several (fluff)Races, winning two.

His owner said Hundo was a great virtual pet who was never much of a fuss and brought joy to countless people. “He seemed cute enough.”

“I probably should have fed him more,” St. Michel added.

Hundo is survived by an egg that a fan gave him. Many people petted Hundo, but none could be reached for comment.

Services won’t be held, as he is a virtual dolphin.
