A&O Productions’s 2010 Ball has sold out, according to its website. The concert, featuring electro-pop artists Passion Pit with special guest rapper Talib Kweli, is scheduled to take place at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago on April 23. Tickets went on sale at 10:30 a.m. this morning.
The concert’s sold-out status followed an early warning from Barry McCardel, co-director of A&O promotions and public relations, who said he would “encourage a student who’s interested to get on the ticketing site right away.”
All tickets sold out by 12:52 p.m., meaning tickets were on sale for under two and a half hours. McCardel says that the Riviera’s large capacity can partly explain why tickets lasted as long as they did.
Over 2,000 tickets were sold. McCardel does not know if more will be released.
‘We always work to get as many tickets out as possible, but we’re never certain,” McCardel said. “In this case it looks like we are running up a very hard limit.”
