A&O Productions usually keeps the identities of its performers under tight wraps. But at Convocation, University President Morton Schapiro leaked that Snoop Dogg and Kid Cudi will perform at the Blowout Concert on October 15 at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
“We had no idea that Morty was going to announce this at Convocation,” said A&O Chairman Barry McCardel, “but we’re glad that he’s as excited for the show as we are. The response so far has been amazing.”
A&O wasn’t planning on announcing the concert for a few more days, said Promotions and Public Relations Co-Chair Elsa Stahura. But they aren’t complaining about the free buzz.
“Schapiro promoted this show to the freshmen in a way we never could have,” Stahura said.
Earlier today, A&O confirmed the announcement via Twitter and Facebook. “Glad Morty is as excited about our line up as we are – Snoop & Kid Cudi for A&O Blowout 2010!” A&O tweeted.
“Snoop Dog has been doing this forever, and Cudi is an explosive newcomer,” Stahura said. “It’s going to be a great show.”

Tickets will go on sale October 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Norris box office online. They cost $15 for undergraduates and $20 for graduate students and alumni. Each person may purchase up to four tickets.
