Hip-hop artist Talib Kweli will perform as the special guest at the A&O Ball on April 23. He will join headliners Passion Pit at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago for the first of five shows A&O has planned for the spring.
“Talib has a good vibe to start off the night,” said Carolyn Goldschmidt, director of concerts. “He’s a solid entertainer.”
Tickets for the A&O Ball will be available for sale through the Norris online box office system on Friday, April 9, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tickets will be $10 for undergraduates with a limit of four tickets per WildCARD. Remaining members of the Northwestern community will be able to purchase tickets for $15 on April 16. Students will have to present a WildCARD at the show.
A&O representatives recognize that Talib Kweli and Passion Pit play different genres of music, but this combination will hopefully make for a great show.
“We definitely thought about the fact that it’s going to bring two different groups of people together,” Goldschmidt said.
Barry McCardel, co-director of promotions and public relations, said that although he is not sure how fast tickets will sell, he would “encourage a student who’s interested to get on the ticketing site right away.”
