From the ever-fabulous Micro Persuasion: washingtonpost.com is going to add comments to all of its news stories, then allow readers to create profiles where all of their comments can be seen.
The question really is, why did it take so long? Every piece of blogging software, including the Wordpress software that powers this site, already has comments built-in, and there’s already-written bits of code that let you track it by user.
Some sites have already begun to encourage comments. The New York Times does comments selectively, and not always tied to a particular article. We mentioned before how The Seattle P-I began comments a while ago; they seem to be adding comments to more and more articles lately.
