Jackie Willens sat on her neatly made bed, Bright Eyes blasting out of her laptop. After the freshman drove from New Jersey to Northwestern and set up her pink-centric side of her Allison dorm room, she took in her dorm surroundings.
“I’m surprised by how big the room was,” Willens said. “I love it.”
Willens was one of many new Northwestern students settling into dorms Tuesday, lugging boxes and suitcases up stairs to their new homes. Aided by parents, Community Assistants and Peer Advisers, freshman furnished their rooms and met their roommates and hallmates for the first time.
