Sports and video games exist in nearly opposite realms, one reserved for those with chiseled abs and bulging forearms, the other meant for losers not capable of getting the lid off a jar of Skippy. But, oh happy day, the two collided this past weekend in Berkeley, CA., where the University of California – Berkeley marching band nerded out as part of a video game-music themed half-time show. Brilliant stuff, from Tetris, to the Pokemon bit to how good the Zelda music sounds. But the last part, with Mario….damn, why can’t NU do this again?
Shout outs to sports blog Deadspin and former NBN-staffer Nomaan Merchant for this awesome video.
