Infographic art, or what 200,000 plastic bottles look like
By

The U.S. uses 200,000 plastic bottles every five minutes, according to photographer Chris Jordan.

Portfolio, a business monthly, has an entrancing piece on a photographer who uses massive images to illustrate statistics — quite literally. Christ Jordan photographed and Photoshopped a sea of 200,000 plastic bottles, for instance, which represents the number that the U.S. goes through every five minutes. The visual says a lot more than the sentence does, and Portfolio’s Web site has a neat presentation of Jordan’s work.
