Famed daredevil Evel Knievel died today at the age of 69. Knievel made daring feats cool and profitable, using his motorcycle jumps over lines of cars and natural valleys to become a celebrity in the 1970s. He’s one of America’s most iconic and unconventional performers and sportsmen, frequently referenced and parodied (check this Kanye video, for example). Below are some of the daredevil’s greatest moments, some of which end in total agony for Knievel.
In Portland
At Caesar’s Palace
Jumping over seven Greyhound busses
Snake River Canyon
Rest in peace, Evel.
