Breath mint? No? How about a commando saw?

Field & Stream magazine has a tasty little photo gallery showing how to put together an outdoor survival kit. That fits in an Altoids tin. Included are a tiny compass, Band-Aids, wires, various hooks, sewing needles and these gems:

Commando Wire Saw, a small survival cable saw. 2 X-Acto knife blades, without the handle. You should always have a real knife on your person; these blades are for backup.

The magazine goes on to show the appropriate kits for hunting, of either the single-day or extended variety.

But remember: always have a real knife on your person.
