The City with Whitney Port
By

Last week on the Hills, Whitney and Jay decided to be exclusive. Shocking. This week, Jay’s roommates Allie and Adam go through relationship trouble, as rumors spread about Adam’s infidelity.

When Allie travels abroad for a photo shoot, Adam, the notorious party-boy, is left alone in the city which only means one thing. Boys night out.

Alex, Jay and the boys go to a strip bar. Samantha’s friend Cat hits on Adam. “I was just trying to figure out if I met you or not.” Smooth, Cat. Very smooth.

As the night progresses, Adam makes out with Cat sometime between the hours of 6 and 8 am. Whitney and Erin get the gossip via text that morning at a diner.

“What is wrong with these people.” Whitney seems to be confused and overwhelmed again about New York City.

    Adam and Jay—The Bromance continues.

Whitney is concerned and tells Jay to talk to Adam. Jay agrees to mention it to Adam. But of course Adam denies it and Jay dispenses his sage relationship wisdom: tell Allie some lies first before she finds out what really happens.

Driving back from the airport, Adam tells Allie that one of her friends made up a story about him making out with another girl. Awkward car ride back ensues. “You know you can trust me.”

    Intervention

Whitney, Samantha and Erin meet Allie at Cafeteria and confront her about Adam. Of course they don’t eat anything and leave after their little intervention. “I’m just concerned for you….We’re here for you, honestly no matter what.”

Allie confronts Adam: “Every time I got to town you have to have some kind of drunk party with a bunch of girls.” Adam has nothing to say but, “Sorry. I promise never to do this to you again” Translation? I’ll stop making out with girls until the next time you leave.

    Olivia

Olivia hangs out with her gay cousin Nevin again. Does she have any other friends? Probably not. They discuss Nevin’s inability to find a job/stay sober/be normal. Maybe it’s because he is a spoiled socialite with no practical skills. Later on in her apartment, Olivia and Nevin have an exciting conversation about custom ordering orthopedic shoes. Apparently, Olivia is repulsed by Nevin’s average, no-name brand sneakers.

“They’re orthopedic…super comf.” Disgusted that she was not involved in the shoe selection process Olivia says “ you can have them message them over. . . a needle point pump”

Erin and Whitney have a deep discussion about Alex, while walking in a autumn park. Very gossip girl Whitney.

The City tries to be Gossip Girl

Erin and Whitney talk a walk in park and have a deep discussion about Adam, the man whore. The ground is covered with leaves and the sun is setting. How romantic and very Gossip Girl of you Whitney.

In another scene, Whitney and Jay sit on a park bench and she reveals the gossip surrounding Adam. What is up with Whitney’s headband? There is a difference between fashion-forward and wearing a totally absurd cable-knit scarf around your head.

    Classic MTV Quotes:

“What can we say, we’re good men.”

“You can tell which one strips in their spare time”

“God bless greasy diner food. Seriously.”

“Who has drinks at two in the afternoon on a Friday.”

“Anyone who wants to house me, raise their hand. “ Olivia: “Not me”

    Final Thoughts:

Olivia is supposed to be the new Heidi of the City. But every episode she seems to be more like Lo than Heidi. Will she reveal her back-stabbing side next week?

Adam and Allie are going through rough times, but Jay’s crappy advice does say much for his character. Is MTV trying to foreshadow some trouble in paradise between Jay and Whitney?
