    In case you were too busy soaking up the sun or freezing your butt off during spring break, here’s a recap of some news you may have missed this vacation.

    Students petition for Protess

    Medill made headlines for a second time this month, but instead of a name change, a professor swap was the breaking news. Students in this spring’s Investigative Journalism class were informed on Tuesday that Medill Innocence Project Director David Protess will not be teaching the class. This announcement angered current students and Medill alumni, sparking petitions from both groups for a clear explanation behind the removal.     Church officials propose tithing body-fat

    A Northwestern Medicine research study released this past week found a correlation between religious involvement and obesity for young adults. The study monitored over 2400 men and women over 18 years, concluding that those who were highly involved in religious activity were 50 percent more likely to develop obesity by middle age.     Northwestern Basketball teams do work at NIT

    Northwestern Men’s and Women’s Basketball ended their seasons on high notes over break in postseason play. The Women’s team advanced to the second round of the WNIT Tournament before succumbing to Alabama’s Crimson Tide 72-70 in overtime. The Men’s team earned a trip to the NIT’s quarterfinals, their best postseason run in team history, but fell to Washington State University 69-66 in a comeback overtime heartbreaker.     Class of 2015 prepares to take campus by storm

    Prospective Northwestern students began receiving their acceptance letters this past week. While Northwestern is encouraging immediate interaction via Twitter and Facebook, campus will soon be overrun with wide-eyed prospies.
