are you my breath of fresh air

my summer morning on a winter night

you dip into my soul like a quill into ink

you write cursive onto my abandoned skin

words fade until every syllable is unintelligible

letters bleed into thin air before my eyes

here I am searching for the end of our sentence

please stay as the last word on my tongue

tell me now, tell me again

    are you my forever

    are you my always
