The investigation of the Wednesday morning traffic accident on Sheridan Road was “a wrap” on Thursday, according to the Evanston Police Department.

The accident, which occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, closed down traffic on Sheridan for several hours. During that time, traffic was rerouted between Foster Street and Chicago Avenue.

According to Cmdr. Tom Guenther of the Evanston Police Department, a northbound motorcycle collided with a pickup truck that turned in front of it.

The motorcycle driver, who Guenther identified as a male, was transported to the Evanston Hospital.

“As far as we know, the gentleman is responding to treatment well and his injuries appear not to be life-threatening,” he said.

Guenther said he had no information regarding the motorcyclist’s identity. However, Vice President for University Relations Al Cubbage said that, according to University Police, the motorcyclist injured in the accident didn’t appear to have a connection to Northwestern.

The driver of the pickup truck was issued two citations, Guenther said.
