Northwestern will remain open on Tuesday despite a previous warning that classes may be canceled due to severe weather.
An e-mail was sent out to the Northwestern community on Tuesday morning by the university’s emergency management system confirming that the University would be open. A previous e-mail sent on Monday had annnounced the possibility that the university would be closed down because of the severe weather conditions.
The last time NU canceled classes because of the weather was Feb. 6, 2008, when only evening classes were canceled.

Today is Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009. Northwestern University will be open today during normal business hours and all scheduled classes will be held.Students, faculty and staff are urged to consider using public transportation when traveling to the Evanston or Chicago campus. If you believe it is unsafe to travel, then stay home.
