    Northwestern Crew
painted the Rock to celebrate their performance at the Dad Vail Regatta last weekend and the completion of the 2006-2007 season, according to Crew team member Jessica Young.

    From Jessica Young:
“Northwestern Crew is the largest and most competitive club sport at NU. It is managed by an Executive Board of elected officers, funded largely by alumni donations and member dues, and coached by four paid coaches. The team is celebrating the completion of a very successful year of fall racing (highlighted by the Head of the Charles in Boston), winter training (including a spring break training trip to South Carolina), and a busy spring racing season. The spring season culminated this past weekend at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia in which NU Crew competed against over 100 colleges and universities in the largest collegiate regatta in the United States. Seven boats entered competition, including a Men’s Novice 4, Men’s Novice 8, Women’s Novice 4, Women’s Varsity Open 4, Women’s Varsity Lightweight 4, Men’s Varsity Open 4, and Men’s Varsity Lightweight 8. Both the Women’s Lightweight 4 and Men’s Varsity Open 4 reached the semi-finals of their respective events, and the Men’s Varsity Lightweight 8 reached the finals. For more information about the team, please visit our website. Northwestern Crew is always looking for more rowers and coxswains!”

Also spray painted on the Rock today: “Save NU Jazz” and another message about the 1 Issue/1 NU End Homelessness Now campaign.
