The dazzling composition of The Great Gatsby, directed by Communication masters student Michael Cotey, is an engrossing spectacle from start to finish. The gorgeous production is complete with well-versed actors adapting roles from the classic literary characters, stunning lighting and sound set up, phenomenal costume design and simple yet impossibly creative set design. This abridged adaptation stays faithful to the spirit of F. Scott Fitzgerald's vision without drowning itself in its own opulence.

The show runs through Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Josephine Louis Theater with performances on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
