One of the most touted recruits in Northwestern history won't be gracing Welsh-Ryan Arena this season after all. Former 2013 commit Jaren Sina verbally committed to Seton Hall Wednesday after reopening his commitment back in March.
The New Jersey product withdrew his letter of intent with the Wildcats when head coach Bill Carmody was fired last month. Sina, who was nationally ranked by sites like ESPN.com, narrowed his final list down to Northwestern, Seton Hall and Indiana before opting for the Pirates. Former 'Cat Fred Hill, an assistant under Carmody and a pivotal figure in Sina's recruitment, joined the Seton Hall staff last week.
Without Sina, the Wildcats will roll with rising junior Dave Sobolewski at point guard in Chris Collins' inaugural season. 2014 point guard and Illinois native Marcus Bartley received an offer from Collins last Thursday.
