After weeks of reviewing applications, leaders of Northwestern University Dance Marathon selected Weinberg juniors Demetri Elias and Chloe Woodhouse Monday night to be emcees in 2013.

"We couldn't be more enthused to have Demitri and Chloe at the forefront of Dance Marathon this year — we think they'll be fantastic embassadors for the Danny Did Foundation to the entire Northwestern community," said NUDM Public Relations Co-chair David Harris. "The amount of energy the two of them share ... you just can't fake that."

The duo will be tasked with maintaining dancer morale, energy and enthusiasm for all 30 hours of Dance Marathon, taking place March 8-10, 2013. This year specifically, Woodhouse said, the emcees want to place a greater focus on generating enthusiasm and drawing more donations in the months leading up to the event.

"We made it clear in our application video that we want to get more groups excited all across campus so we can get more donations earlier," Woodhouse said. "We want to be a continued presence on campus not just during the 30 hours of DM, but all throughout the year."
