    Delta Tau Delta's painted Rock

Northwestern's newest fraternity, Delta Tau Delta, made its presence on campus known Friday when members decorated the Rock with its letters and colors.

The founding class of DTD, or "the Delts," formed during fall quarter in an effort to recolonize the fraternity that was asked to leave campus in 2007. Now with more than 30 active members, the Delts are launching a recruitment campaign in an effort to reach out to new students and grow their numbers.

"It's a bit different from the average recruiting process, which is what drew me to it in the first place," said Weinberg junior Pat Peters, who helped guard the Rock Thursday afternoon. "We want to show that we're really a values-driven group--and it's hard to see a fraternity's values just by going to parties or Sunday night dinners."
