Chapin will be holding its first ever “Stoop-a-thon” November 27. Participants will sit outside Chapin on their stoop for 24 hours to raise money for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Participants will collect pledges for each hour they “stoop.”
A lot of other residential colleges have big events, said organizer Rachael Goldman, a SESP sophomore, and Chapin wanted to have something too. “A lot of us smoke,” Goldman said, which makes the stoop an important area. When the group needed to pick a charity, they thought “Why not lung cancer research?” she said.
