Cary Brothers headlined the Homecoming concert Thursday night at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall. Communication sophomore Mori Einsidler, who performs under the name MORI, opened for Brothers with a 15-minute set.
As he put on his guitar, Brothers (WCAS ‘95) reminisced about how the last time he was in Pick-Staiger, he was working on an A&O Productions show. Brothers talked about his Northwestern years throughout the show, inspiring laughs with his stories about beer and taco night and his surprise upon seeing a Sbarro instead of a bar in the current Norris University Center.
When he wasn’t charming the crowd, Brothers strummed on his acoustic guitar and occasionally played the keyboard. Though he is most widely known for his song “Blue Eyes,” a track featured in fellow Northwestern alumnus Zach Braff’s Garden State, crowd members let out squeals of delight for songs like “Ride” and “Belong,” both songs featured on the hit T.V. show Grey’s Anatomy.
The show was sponsored by A&O Productions, Northwestern Homecoming and the Northwestern Alumni Association.
