Carly Rae Jepsen to headline A&O Blowout 2018
By

For those who secretly still bop to "Call Me Maybe" while strolling down Sheridan, we have good news: A&O announced earlier tonight that Carly Rae Jepsen will headline this year's Blowout 2018.

Jepsen hit international stardom with her 2011 single "Call Me Maybe," which was certified Diamond in the U.S. She is currently working on her fourth studio album, and released the album's lead single "Party for One" earlier this month. Some of her most notable songs include "I Really Like You" and "Good Time," which she recorded with Owl City. She also recorded the theme song for Netflix's Fuller House in late 2015.

Jepsen hails from Canada originally and also has a significant background in acting: She played Frenchy in Grease Live in 2016, and pursued musical theatre at the Canadian College of Performing Arts.

Rapper Smino will open for Jepsen. He released Noir on Nov. 8, an album that A&O said in a press release is "the culmination of years of an incredibly promising artist honing in on a truly unique sound." Smino is originally from St. Louis, Missouri and has been active in the Chicago music scene.

Blowout will be on Nov. 17 at the Welsh-Ryan Arena. Doors open at 7 p.m., and tickets will be available for $10 on the Norris Box Office website.
