A&O announces lineup for spring benefit concert
By

Summer vibes are coming to Norris early this quarter. Nu-Hula band Vacationer will be headlining A&O and Dance Marathon's Benefit concert this Saturday at 2 p.m., with Chicago soul group The O'My's opening. Tickets are free with a suggested donation of $5 towards the 2016 Dance Marathon beneficiary. Bro tanks are also suggested, but not required.

Though lacking a Spotify presence and relatively unknown, Vacationer toured the country in 2012 and 2013 with The Naked and Famous and St. Lucia, and will perform at Firefly and BottleRock festivals this summer. With a self-described Nu-Hula/World Wave sound, Vacationer is certainly a departure from the synth-heavy acts A&O has brought so far this year. Concert-goers can expect a chill sound from band member Matthew Young's vibraphone, which, not kidding, is the etymological origin of the slang term "vibes"

Opening act The O'My's has local origins and some major street cred. The group has recorded with Chance the Rapper, Wyclef Jean and Yo Yo Ma, just to name a few. If the Dillo lineup thus far has you feeling fed up with electronic music, The O'My's has instrumental presence to spare. In addition to the traditional guitar/drum/bass/vocals outfit, the band boasts a saxophone, keyboard, trumpet and trombone.

Posters will be available for purchase at the event for an additional $3. Concert goers who plan on having a good view may want to arrive early; the concert has been relocated from its original location on the East Lawn to the Louis Room in Norris due to inclement weather.
