Actress Stephanie March (Comm. ‘96) will return to campus to serve as the Homecoming Grand Marshal, the School of Communication announced Monday.

March is best known for her role as Alexandra Cabot on Law and Order: SVU. She has also acted in the comedy Head of State and action flick Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

As grand marshal, March will ride in the Homecoming Parade, hold a Q&A session with students and make an appearance at the football game Oct. 23.

Her husband, celebrity chef Bobby Flay of The Food Network, will ride in the parade by her side.

“Students and alum alike would like to see her come back,” said Stephanie Weinstein, homecoming committee co-chair. “She showed excitement about coming back, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”

Recent grand marshals include Stephen Colbert (Comm. ‘87) in 2006, Clinton Kelly (MSJ ‘93) of “What Not to Wear” in 2007, Olympic swimmer Matt Grevers (Comm. ‘07) in 2008 and Chicago Bears player Nick Roach (WCAS ‘07) in 2009.
