For an hour and a half on Tuesday night, many buildings across campus were left in the dark during a power outage.
According to University Relations Vice President Al Cubbage, the blackout was due to a failure of a Com Edison power feeder line, but as of Wednesday morning, there was “no word as to the causeā of the failure.
The power outage “occurred at 11 p.m. and the power was restored at about 12:30 a.m.,” Cubbage said.
Cubbage said that several residence halls were affected, such as 1835 Hinman, Public Affairs Residential College, and East and West Fairchild.
The power outage also hit buildings further north, including the McCormick Tribune Center, Leverone Hall, the Hogan Building and SPAC.
