A white semi-trailer truck hit a crosswalk light at the intersection of Clark St. and Chicago Ave. around 5:50 p.m. Saturday.
The truck drove over the light pole after it fell and quickly left the intersection. The lights at the intersection stopped and began to flash red.
Passengers and pedestrians at the crosswalk stopped to stare and occasionally laugh at fallen the light. Many of the pedestrians were on their way from a wedding at Alice Millar chapel to the reception. Some pedestrians stepped onto the crosswalk only to see a car coming towards them.
Police received notification around 6 p.m. and were on the scene shortly afterward. No one was injured in the accident.
