Just more than six months ago, the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks brought home the Stanley Cup after winning the decisive Game Six of the Stanley Cup Final in Philadelphia. Now, the Cup is set to make an appearance at Ryan Field this Saturday.

Prior to Northwestern’s fourth football game of the season against Central Michigan, Lord Stanley’s Mug will be featured in a pregame presentation, expected to start around 10:50 a.m.

The ceremony, organized by Northwestern’s Department of Athletics, honors Blackhawks Chairman Rocky Wirtz (Comm ‘75) and Blackhawks President John McDonough, who has lectured at Northwestern.

“As a native Chicagoan who grew up cheering for the Blackhawks, this is a thrill for our fans,” Coach Pat Fitzgerald told NUSports.com. “There should be plenty of electricity in the stadium on Saturday with the Stanley Cup on the field and our students back in the stands.”

Kickoff between the Wildcats and Chippewas is set for 11 a.m.
