More students dropped bids during the first night of recruitment than ever before, according to a Thursday morning press release from the Interfraternity Council.
The total of over 225 for Wednesday, the first day of the IFC recruitment week, revealed a 30% gain from the previous record at Northwestern, set in 2010. Last year, NBN graphed the previous year’s first day totals, which were already rising immensely.
Past years have consistently shown 340 to 350 students dropping bids overall. Fraternity houses will continue recruitment events until Sunday, Jan. 8, when IFC will release the final count for bids at individual chapters on campus.
