    Northwestern flushes another 1-0 season and looks ahead to the Allstate Wrigleyville Classic against rival Illinois and the Land of Lincoln Trophy. The fallout from last Saturday is as followed:

  • Dan Persa’s ruptured Achilles tendon was surgically repaired Saturday night. According to reports, Persa was released from the hospital and is resting comfortably at home.
  • The Walter Camp Football Foundation honored the fallen quarterback with its National Player of the Week award (offense) for his work against Iowa. Persa finished 32-of-43 for 318 yards and two touchdowns, and added 50 rushing yards and one score on the ground before bowing out with 1:22 remaining.
  • ESPN’s famed College GameDay pregame show will be at Wrigley Field this Saturday to celebrate the Friendly Confines’ first college football game since 1938. Coverage begins 8 a.m. CST on ESPNU and continues at 9 a.m. CST on ESPN. The Northwestern Alumni Association (NAA) will also host a Wildcat tailgate starting at 10 a.m. between Addison & Waveland.
