Northwestern flushes another 1-0 season and looks ahead to the Allstate Wrigleyville Classic against rival Illinois and the Land of Lincoln Trophy. The fallout from last Saturday is as followed:
Dan Persa’s ruptured Achilles tendon was surgically repaired Saturday night. According to reports, Persa was released from the hospital and is resting comfortably at home.
The Walter Camp Football Foundation honored the fallen quarterback with its National Player of the Week award (offense) for his work against Iowa. Persa finished 32-of-43 for 318 yards and two touchdowns, and added 50 rushing yards and one score on the ground before bowing out with 1:22 remaining.
ESPN’s famed College GameDay pregame show will be at Wrigley Field this Saturday to celebrate the Friendly Confines’ first college football game since 1938. Coverage begins 8 a.m. CST on ESPNU and continues at 9 a.m. CST on ESPN. The Northwestern Alumni Association (NAA) will also host a Wildcat tailgate starting at 10 a.m. between Addison & Waveland.
