The annual Northwestern Ski Trip will venture to Jupiter Bowl in Park City, Utah this winter, the Northwestern Ski and Snowboard Club announced Friday at its first outdoor Mountain Reveal.
The trip, scheduled for Dec. 10-16, is the largest student-organized tour in the nation, said NU Ski Trip board member Agatha Kielczewski, a Weinberg senior. About 700 to 1,000 students attend each year.
“We’re hoping to sell more tickets than any other year,” said board co-president Jonathan Adair, a Weinberg senior. “It’s a big mountain with a big name. Last year we took over Copper Mountain, so let’s go take over Park City this year.”
The board is working to make this year’s trip “bigger and better” with planned events each night, Adair said.
“If kids want a nineties sweater party, we will throw a nineties sweater party,” Adair said. “Dinners, pub crawls, a concert, bonfires – we’re looking to have activities people want.”
The NU Ski Trip board has never held a large mountain reveal before, said Adair. The board hosted the event in order to increase awareness and excitement for the trip.
In past years, Ski Trip has traveled to resorts like Breckenridge, Aspen, Telluride and Jackson Hole.
Tickets will go on sale Oct. 10.
Editor's note: The ticket date has been fixed. Ski Trip has been to all locations listed, though many were pre-2006 trips. More recent destinations include Copper Mountain, Winter Park, Steamboat Springs and Big Sky.
