No. 6 Ohio State defeated Northwestern (3-8, 1-5 B1G) wrestling 27-15 by in a dual meet, continuing the 'Cats' trend of individual success and team defeats. Four Northwestern wrestlers won their matches Sunday to give the Wildcats 15 points, the second most scored against Ohio State this season.
No. 1 Sebastian Rivera (125) started off the meet the same way as every other dual meet has started for the Wildcats this season – with a win. The victory gave Rivera his fiftieth career win and continued his undefeated 19-0 season.

Alec McKenna (141) picked up a surprise win for the Wildcats with an 8-3 win over Ohio State’s Clay Ragon to give the Wildcats a 7-3 lead.
No. 3 Ryan Deakin (157) had one of Northwestern’s most impressive victories on the afternoon with his 8-0 shutout win over No. 6 Ke-Shawn Hayes. The win improved Deakin’s record to 20-2 this season, including a 7-2 record against ranked wrestlers.
Northwestern’s final victory in the meet came in its final match as Conan Jennings defeated Ohio State’s Gary Traub 11-0.157 | Deakin improves to 20-2 with his seventh ranked win of the year.

The loss knocks the Wildcats down to 3-8 on the season, with five conference losses. The ‘Cats will look to end their three meet losing streak on Friday evening against Michigan State (7-6, 2-4 B1G).
