    Faculty members are given teaching awards

    The University Teaching Awards will honor six faculty members for their exceptional performance in classroom instruction at a ceremony on May 20 in Scott Hall. Undergraduate deans and a committee nominated the winners. Susie Phillips was named winner of The Alumnae of Northwestern Teaching Professor award. David J. Corr and Jeanne Weiland Herrick were recognized as Charles Deering McCormick University Distinguished Lecturers or Clinical Professors while Rebecca Claire Gilman, Todd David Murphey, and Neelesh A. Patankar were awarded the Charles Deering McCormick Professors of Teaching Excellence.

    Lyfe Kitchen jumps on the 'healthy eating' bandwagon

    Looking for some vegan eatin’? The chain restaurant Lyfe Kitchen on Orrington Avenue will launch its healthy food campaign on May 20. The restaurant hopes to serve its customers’ wellness needs as well as promoting a quality of taste. Lyfe Kitchen serves an array of menu items that are less than 600 calories to promote better eating. They hope to expand to ten more locations in the Chicago land area.

    Concert jumpstarts Social Justice Week

    Social Justice Week hosted a kickoff concert that will commence a week of events starting on May 12. The event consisted of musical performances that were showcased in the Dittmar Gallery. More than 10 student groups will participate in the upcoming week of social justice.
