    Applications for TEDx Northwestern U 2014 are now closed

    Speaker applications for Northwestern’s 2014 TEDx conference closed on Wednesday. Applicants submitted one-minute videos centered on the theme of “Crossing Paths.” Only nine candidates from a pool of faculty, students and alumni will be selected to speak at the first day-long event on April 12, 2014.

    NUCHR hosts conferences on environmental human rights

    NUCHR jumpstarted its 11th annual Conference on Human Rights on Thursday with an opening keynote: Winona LaDuke, Native American activist. The conference focused on the connection between human rights and the environment by presenting panels on climate change and the varying effects of environmental crises on different socioeconomic communities.

    Police launch emergency response team

    University police has organized the Community Emergency Response Team, a volunteer program for students and staff to initiate emergency preparedness on campus. Program participants will increase awareness and aid first responders after a community crisis. A class will meet four nights in April, limited in size to only 20 members. Registration for the volunteer emergency response team will end on Mar. 15.

    SUITS College Tour announces screening on campus

    The hit TV series "SUITS" is coming to campus on Feb. 18. USA Network presents the SUITS College Tour to seven colleges across the nation, providing students with a screening of the winter premiere and a Q&A session with the cast of the show. Students interested in attending must RSVP and enter on a first-come, first-served basis.
