    The Wildcats are going streaking.

Northwestern made the short trip to DeKalb on Wednesday to take on the Northern Illinois Huskies and came away with a 2-0 win. The victory extends the ‘Cats unbeaten streak to six games and gives them a much-needed win as they begin a set of five straight matches away from home. The next home game they'll play will be Nov. 2, against Penn State.

Eric Weberman opened the scoring in the 42nd minute with a 20-yard firecracker from well outside the box. It was Weberman’s first goal of the season, and it couldn’t have come at a better moment, as it gave the ‘Cats the lead just before halftime.

In the 80th minute, a pair of freshman would seal the victory for Northwestern, as Elo Ozumba assisted Sam Forsgren’s first goal as a Wildcat to make it 2-0. From there, the 'Cats coasted to another victory.

With the shutout, goalkeeper Tyler Miller recorded his seventh clean sheet of the season. Miller now has 34 shutouts in his Northwestern career, as he continues to improve upon the school record he already holds.

The win moves Northwestern to 6-1-4 on the season and keeps them on pace to qualify for their 9th NCAA tournament. The ‘Cats are back in action on Tuesday, when they’ll travel to South Bend to take on Notre Dame.
