Live blog: Evanston City Council Meeting
By

More than 1,100 students said on Facebook that they would attend an Evanston city council meeting tonight, many to voice opposition to the “three-unrelated law” — or “brothel law” — prohibiting more than three unrelated people from living together in the same residence.

Since November, messages from the city and the university have indicated that Evanston would pursue violators of the law more aggressively. But last week’s Daily Northwestern story on the issue galvanized widespread student opposition, and more recently Evanston has said that it will not increase enforcement of the law.
